Bark Fines
Bark Fines can be used as a fine mulch around plants in beds and borders and is a great source of organic matter. Bark Fines will helping to suppress weeds and insulate the soil and with its low pH can be used with ericaceous plants.

Description
A very fine composted bark, great to use as a mulch around plants in beds and borders. Bark Fines helps too suppress weeds and insulate the soil.
It can also be used as a soil conditioner. By incorporating it into the soil, the composted Bark Fines adds organic matter helping to increase the soil’s ability to hold on to moisture and retain nutrients, aiding root development. The overall effect is to create a better environment in which plants can grow.
Our Bark Fines have a pH of between 4.5 – 6.5 and a particle size of 0-8 mm. This is also good for ericaceous plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas, heathers as it can help to lower the pH value of the soil.
Fines are dark in colour but may contain small chips of wood which given it the white flecks. Our fines have a minimum white wood content.
All our fines are sourced from FSC certified companies (Forestry Stewardship Council) allowing businesses and consumers to identify, purchase and use wood, paper and other forest products made with materials from well-managed forests and/or recycled sources.
Sold in our handy half size bulk bags, full size bulk bags or may be delivered loose if required.

Delivery Information
We use a variety of delivery methods to deliver our products.
Where you live and what you order will determine the method of delivery.
If you are in any doubt as to whether we or the pallet company can deliver to your address because of a tight or restricted access, or for any other reason, please contact us before placing your order online. PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY FOR RE-DELIVERY OR FOR FAILED DELIVERY – please refer to our Terms and Conditions. By completing your order you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.
- Local Delivery – Land Rover and trailer delivery
If you live in our local delivery area which covers most (but not all) S, SK, and DE postcodes your products will be delivered by ourselves either in bulk bags or half bulk bags by Land Rover and trailer to the kerbside/roadside. Loose delivery via Land Rover and tipping trailer is also available on request, please contact us for more information.
If access allows, and the delivery driver is happy to do so, they may try to deliver onto your driveway. If you do instruct the driver to offload onto your property please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.
Please note: due to access requirements and other limiting factors, the delivery drop off point is always at the discretion of the delivery driver.
- Nationwide Delivery – Bulk Bag Pallet Delivery
If you live outside our local delivery area your products will be delivered using the pallet network. The pallet company will use a manually operated pallet truck to move the bulk bags from the delivery lorry to the kerbside/roadside.
In some cases it may be possible for the delivery to be placed on a driveway, however the driveway must be a level and solid surface such as tarmac (not a grass, gravel or sloping driveway.) Please note due to access requirements and other limiting factors, the delivery drop off point is always at the discretion of the delivery driver. If you do instruct the driver to offload onto your property please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.

- Nationwide Delivery – Bulk Loose Lorry Delivery
If you are ordering products loose tipped in bulk then your products would be delivered in an 8 wheeler tipper lorry. The lorry will have a total weight of 32 tonnes when fully loaded so access to driveways and properties is restricted. If you instruct the driver to offload onto your property, please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.
- Call and Collect
You can also collect from our yard. Please contact us to arrange a collection day and time slot.
- How quickly you receive your goods?
After you have placed your order through the website you will receive a phone call within two working days to discuss the delivery day and time options available to you.
Local delivery is usually 2-3 working days from ordering however when delivery is via a pallet company your order can take up to 5 working days. Please contact us if you require more information.

Important Information
We always advise our customers to wear gloves when handling the product and wash hands thoroughly after use, as many of our products contain Farmyard Manure.
Please be aware that the bagging process can sometimes cause the contents of the bag to heat up slightly, especially during warmer weather. We recommend that you open the bag before use and maintain good ventilation while removing the product from the bag so that any aroma or vapour that has naturally built up within the product will disappear.
