JPR Gold Soil Conditioner
New JPR Gold is one of our best-selling products produced from a blend of Matured Farmyard Manure and Composted Bark Fines creating a quality, peat-free, friable soil conditioner, it can improve the structure and fertility of soil. It can help improve drainage in heavy soils and retain moisture in sandy soils. JPR Gold can also be used as a mulch around plants in beds and borders. Mulch serves several purposes, including conserving soil moisture, suppressing weeds, and moderating soil temperature. It can also enhance the aesthetics of garden beds.
It is essential to note that JPR Gold is not designed for standalone use as in a potting compost and therefore should be used in conjunction with your topsoil to achieve optimal results. This product is formulated to enhance the quality and nutrient content of existing topsoil.

Description
JPR Gold is one of our best-selling products produced from a blend of Matured Farmyard Manure and Composted Bark Fines to create a quality, peat-free, easy to use soil conditioner or mulch.
It is excellent for use on both flower and vegetable beds alike.
JPR Gold can also be used as a valuable, enriching and decorative mulch. Using it around shrubs and plants in your beds and borders will help to suppress weeds, aid moisture retention, add nutrients and protect the soil by providing an insulating layer, keeping the warmth in and protecting the soil from extreme winter weather conditions.
Not only is it peat-free, but it’s attractive appearance sets off your plants against its rich, dark colour. JPR Gold looks good on your beds and borders and over time, as the product breaks down, it will be incorporated into your soil with a little help from the friendly garden worm.
JPR Gold is a great way to add organic matter to your beds and borders, a natural product containing no additives or chemicals.
By incorporating JPR Gold into the soil you will not only help the soil structure, but improve the nutrient levels and aid moisture retention, creating a better environment in which your plants can grow and develop.
We frequently receive inquiries about using JPR Gold for no-dig beds. However, it’s important to note that this product isn’t suitable for such applications because of its open structure. Without a soil element to provide stability, plants may struggle to establish themselves, making it essential to use a soil component to create an environment conducive to seedling growth.
Alternatively, if you wish to create new beds and borders without pre-existing topsoil, we recommend trying our Border Mix which is a blend of our JPR Gold Soil Conditioner and Screened Topsoil.

Delivery Information
We use a variety of delivery methods to deliver our products.
Where you live and what you order will determine the method of delivery.
If you are in any doubt as to whether we or the pallet company can deliver to your address because of a tight or restricted access, or for any other reason, please contact us before placing your order online. PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY FOR RE-DELIVERY OR FOR FAILED DELIVERY – please refer to our Terms and Conditions. By completing your order you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.
- Local Delivery – Land Rover and trailer delivery
If you live in our local delivery area which covers most (but not all) S, SK, and DE postcodes your products will be delivered by ourselves either in bulk bags or half bulk bags by Land Rover and trailer to the kerbside/roadside. Loose delivery via Land Rover and tipping trailer is also available on request, please contact us for more information.
If access allows, and the delivery driver is happy to do so, they may try to deliver onto your driveway. If you do instruct the driver to offload onto your property please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.
Please note: due to access requirements and other limiting factors, the delivery drop off point is always at the discretion of the delivery driver.
- Nationwide Delivery – Bulk Bag Pallet Delivery
If you live outside our local delivery area your products will be delivered using the pallet network. The pallet company will use a manually operated pallet truck to move the bulk bags from the delivery lorry to the kerbside/roadside.
In some cases it may be possible for the delivery to be placed on a driveway, however the driveway must be a level and solid surface such as tarmac (not a grass, gravel or sloping driveway.) Please note due to access requirements and other limiting factors, the delivery drop off point is always at the discretion of the delivery driver. If you do instruct the driver to offload onto your property please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.

- Nationwide Delivery – Bulk Loose Lorry Delivery
If you are ordering products loose tipped in bulk then your products would be delivered in an 8 wheeler tipper lorry. The lorry will have a total weight of 32 tonnes when fully loaded so access to driveways and properties is restricted. If you instruct the driver to offload onto your property, please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.
- Call and Collect
You can also collect from our yard. Please contact us to arrange a collection day and time slot.
- How quickly you receive your goods?
After you have placed your order through the website you will receive a phone call within two working days to discuss the delivery day and time options available to you.
Local delivery is usually 2-3 working days from ordering however when delivery is via a pallet company your order can take up to 5 working days. Please contact us if you require more information.

Important Information
We always advise our customers to wear gloves when handling the product and wash hands thoroughly after use, as many of our products contain Farmyard Manure.
Please be aware that the bagging process can sometimes cause the contents of the bag to heat up slightly, especially during warmer weather. We recommend that you open the bag before use and maintain good ventilation while removing the product from the bag so that any aroma or vapour that has naturally built up within the product will disappear.

I ordered 4 tons of gold soil conditioner with added grit at the end of April. We have extremely heavy clay soil and the advice I received over the phone was excellent. Delivery was spot on too. The garden is certainly benefitting from the mulch and the soil is easier to dig with the added grit. We will probably be ordering more! I have used JPR products for years and always been delighted with them. The topsoil is excellent quality, I have used it in beds and in lawns (the ultimate test for a topsoil). JPR Gold is a superb soil conditioner, whether you are enriching established beds or starting off a new bed in less than ideal soil.
