Description
A decorative, weed suppressing, organic mulch for use around plants and shrubs in beds and borders.
Ornamental bark is very pleasing to the eye and with its moisture retaining aspect helps to reduce the need for watering in dry periods.* The product is free flowing and easy to handle, ideal for tidying garden borders and flower beds.
It is traditionally a product gardeners lay on flowers beds and borders to mulch down and over time as the product breaks down, it can add organic matter to the soil. The bark helps retain the moisture in dry periods and also acts as an insulation layer during cold weather protecting your plants in the winter months.
Typical landscaping uses include large planting areas, garden beds and borders and professional landscaping projects. When used with our ground cover matting, long-term weed control is achieved with minimum effort. We recommend laying the bark to a minimum of 100mm (4 inches) deep to help prevent weed growth with no matting, or if matting is used, a covering of 50mm (2 inches) deep which will help to cover the matting giving your beds and borders an attractive appearance.
The decorative bark is softer than our hardwood play chips and more aesthetic in nature.
Approximate particle size 10-40 mm produced from a mixed bark. Up to 20% white wood and minimum dust and fines.
*Always advisable to water your beds throughly in dry periods before mulching with the ornamental bark or any type of mulch.
Sold in our handy half size bulk bags, full size bulk bags or may be delivered loose if required.

Delivery Information
We use a variety of delivery methods to deliver our products.
Where you live and what you order will determine the method of delivery.
If you are in any doubt as to whether we or the pallet company can deliver to your address because of a tight or restricted access, or for any other reason, please contact us before placing your order online. PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY FOR RE-DELIVERY OR FOR FAILED DELIVERY – please refer to our Terms and Conditions. By completing your order you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.
- Local Delivery – Land Rover and trailer delivery
If you live in our local delivery area which covers most (but not all) S, SK, and DE postcodes your products will be delivered by ourselves either in bulk bags or half bulk bags by Land Rover and trailer to the kerbside/roadside. Loose delivery via Land Rover and tipping trailer is also available on request, please contact us for more information.
If access allows, and the delivery driver is happy to do so, they may try to deliver onto your driveway. If you do instruct the driver to offload onto your property please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.
Please note: due to access requirements and other limiting factors, the delivery drop off point is always at the discretion of the delivery driver.
- Nationwide Delivery – Bulk Bag Pallet Delivery
If you live outside our local delivery area your products will be delivered using the pallet network. The pallet company will use a manually operated pallet truck to move the bulk bags from the delivery lorry to the kerbside/roadside.
In some cases it may be possible for the delivery to be placed on a driveway, however the driveway must be a level and solid surface such as tarmac (not a grass, gravel or sloping driveway.) Please note due to access requirements and other limiting factors, the delivery drop off point is always at the discretion of the delivery driver. If you do instruct the driver to offload onto your property please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.

- Nationwide Delivery – Bulk Loose Lorry Delivery
If you are ordering products loose tipped in bulk then your products would be delivered in an 8 wheeler tipper lorry. The lorry will have a total weight of 32 tonnes when fully loaded so access to driveways and properties is restricted. If you instruct the driver to offload onto your property, please note we are not liable for any damages caused in doing so.

You can also collect from our yard. Please contact us to arrange a collection day and time slot.
- How quickly you receive your goods?
After you have placed your order through the website you will receive a phone call within two working days to discuss the delivery day and time options available to you.
Local delivery is usually 2-3 working days from ordering however when delivery is via a pallet company your order can take up to 5 working days. Please contact us if you require more information.

Important Information
We always advise our customers to wear gloves when handling the product and wash hands thoroughly after use, as many of our products contain Farmyard Manure.
Please be aware that the bagging process can sometimes cause the contents of the bag to heat up slightly, especially during warmer weather. We recommend that you open the bag before use and maintain good ventilation while removing the product from the bag so that any aroma or vapour that has naturally built up within the product will disappear.
